As most of you probably know, Microsoft is testing a new search widget in the latest Windows 11 insider build. Build 25136 to be exact. As you know, Microsoft hides new features so that they can be tested by insiders first.
This also applies to the new taskbar search widget. The widget is not found on your taskbar by default. But for those who want to test the new widget anyway, Rafael Rivera found out how to activate the new search widget by using vivetool.
How to activate for testing
- To start with, download vivetool from GitHub. Don’t change the unzipped folder name!
- Run the command prompt as administrator and copy and paste the following into your CMD. cd c:\ViVeTool-v0.2.1
- Type or copy and paste the command vivetool addconfig 37010913 2 and hit enter.
- Restart your system to apply changes.
