AMD came up with a new Adrenalin driver for the RX 7900 series. The driver contains some fixes that were still open in the previous driver release. However, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done to make it all perfect.
Changed or Fixed
- When using Virtual Super Resolution in multi-monitor configurations, it may malfunction.
- When switching the display mode with 4 display configurations, a system crash can be observed.
- When loading Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the app may crash or time out after activating the raytracing settings.
- Improvements in power consumption during hardware-accelerated video playback.Ā Further improvements in energy efficiency are planned for future releases.
Remaining Issues
- When using select high-resolution, high-refresh-rate displays, high idle power consumption was occasionally observed.
- Intermittent app crashes or driver timeouts can occur when using Radeon Super Resolution with some advanced screen configurations.
- Some advanced screen configurations may experience stuttering or performance degradation during gameplay and video playback.
- In UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End, there may be stuttering during the opening sequence of the game.
- When playing Valheim, using the VulkanĀ® API may cause the app to crash or time out the driver. Users experiencing these issues should choose DirectX API as a workaround.
- Some virtual reality games or apps may experience slower performance than expected.
