It’s been reported by users that Windows 10 is creating a debug.log file on Desktop.
Here is how to prevent Chromium browsers (Edge and Google Chrome) from creating a debug.log file on Desktop.
You can solve this by deleting the Chromium Crashpad folder’s contents. You can find the data in the following locations:
Chrome: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Crashpad
Edge: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Crashpad
- Delete the content of the Crashpad folders.
- Start Chrome again to recreate the contents of the Crashpad folder.
Now that Crashpad has been reset, the debug.log files should no longer be created, and everything should work normally.
And finally, Restart Windows.
if you have done everything correctly, the Logfile will no longer appear on the Desktop.
